Drapes for your windows

Drapes for your windows

Do you know what to imagine when the word “drapes” is mentioned? In textiles, drapes refers to the way fabric naturally hangs, gathers, or folds into pleats (“to drape”). This term is used not only in fashion design but also in interior design to describe textile elements such as curtains, drapes, or decorative fabrics.

Drapery depends on the properties of the fabric, such as its stiffness, weight, and elasticity. Soft, light fabrics such as silk, create delicate, flowing folds, while stiffer materials like corduroy or velvet hold a firmer shape.
We are happy to help you choose the right type of “drapes” for your window.

Using Drapes as a window treatment

The most common combination we use is the classic pair of a drape and a sheer. The sheer is typically translucent, it provides a sense of intimacy and coziness during the day and serves as a much-needed barrier in the evening. We use drapes for the same reason, as our beautiful views from the windows turn into dark holes in the wall at night.

With drapery, we can enhance and cozy up our interior. Curtains and drapes are most commonly used in bedrooms, living rooms, children’s rooms, and even home offices.
